ACE COACHING CERTIFICATION AND TEAM REGISTRATION

05/09/04 – The following procedure was adopted at a recent meeting with CCASA staff members:

When your local County representative schedules the ACE Coaching Certification in your area, attendance will be mandatory for Head Coaches of all B or C Travel Teams.  All other coaches are more than welcome to attend, but will be required to pay the $20 fee for the class and certification.  If your ACE Certification Training is on or prior to May 27, 2004, please bring to that class/clinic, your team’s completed (League style) Individual Registration form along with the $15 Team fee (ACE Head coach payment), your $300 or $225 Championship entry fee with the Entry form completed.  The County representative conducting the ACE Certification, will forward all the paperwork requested to the CCASA office in Atascadero.  This should expedite the processing of all the B & C AllStar Travel Teams registration process.  If the ACE Coaching Certification in your area is not scheduled prior to May 27th, then all the forms and monies requested above need to be mailed directly to the CCASA in Atascadero as soon as possible.

(Be sure to also read the All-Star Team Registration information dated 04/30/04).

ALL STAR Team Registration

04/30/04 – “B” and “C” Travel Ball Teams/Coaches – Please note the following:

When your team has been selected from the tryouts that you have held, the process of registration will only change slightly this year. Your County JO Commissioners will assist their leagues as normal. As stated in the annual meeting and the Guidelines section, all teams need to use the regular “league” individual registration form to register their team with the CCASA office. This year we need for each team that registers, to send in their entry fee for the Association (Metro) Championship  ($300 per “B” Team) ($225 per “C” Team), along with a completed tournament entry form located under the Events tab of the CCASA website: http://www.ccmsasa.org/special_events/speciallist.html

In addition, there will be a fee of $15 per team (ACE head coach payment) to accompany the registration form. Please remember that if for any reason your team does not attend the Association Championship, the $300 entry fee will be returned to you. Upon receipt of individual league style registration forms and fees mentioned above, each team can use their Individual Registration Form as their official roster to play in ASA sanctioned tournaments.

Shortly after receipt of the above, Championship Rosters will be made available by your County JO Commissioner. For the procedure for completion of the Championship Roster, please refer to the Perfect Roster on the GFP B/C website. http://www.rmpinsurance.com/ccasa/

Note - Team Managers/Coaches will be responsible for obtaining their JO Commissioners signature on the Championship Roster at least 72 hours (was 24 hours) before the first Championship Game.

2/9/04 - A quick reminder, each recreational league that is planning to have a GFP - B or C Travel Ball team this summer, should be developing your own written Travel (AllStar) Program Procedures/Guidelines, if you have not done so already.  Refer to AllStar Program ( B & C ) Guidelines in the Guidelines section of this website.  A written program directive will be a great tool to inform parents, players as well as coaches as to the leagues overview of procedures in implementing your AllStar/Travel Ball Program.  If you have any questions or concerns regarding this, please email me.

01/22/04  Level I Coaches Clinics, are coming to your area soon.

Ridgecrest - 02/07/04

Bakersfield - 02/21/04

Kingsburg - 02/28/04

Clovis - 03/07/04

Each recreational league should make it mandatory, that all new coaches attend a one day Level I Coaches Clinic.  Especially 8 & Under and 10 & Under coaches as well 12 & Under coaches that have not attended the Level I Clinic.  It also never hurts to attend a second time.  A Level I Coaches Clinic is very informative and full of great ideas.  It covers many techniques and drills from throwing, infield, outfield, baserunning, hitting, pitching, catching, team drills, practice organization and more.  Each league will be happy their coaches attended.

01/22/04 The Girls Fastpitch B & C Tournament schedule is being finalized.  It should be posted by the end of the week

01/08/04 – Welcome to the CCASA GFP – B & C Web Site.  I hope you will find it useful and informative.  For those who are regular visitors of the CCASA main web site, I am sure you have found the new format to be more appealing and user friendly.  The intent of this site is to keep you informed with the specifics of ASA Girls Fast Pitch B & C Travel Ball in the Central California Amateur Softball Association.  The site looks alot like the “A” site by design; I liked the way Dave set his up.

The Home page will have news, changes, questions or concerns that will be posted on an on-going basis.  The Teams section will have a current list of registered B & C travel teams with contact information.  The Guidelines section will provide you with information to help understand the guidelines and rules set forth by Central California ASA as well as ASA.  The Results section will provide you with last years National Tournament results as well as on-going results for 2004 sanctioned tournaments within CCASA.  I will post the top five places of each tournament.  I need for each tournament director, to email me the top five place finishes on Sunday evening so I can post them for that week.  The Events section will include ongoing and up coming tournament events.  And hopefully the FAQ section will answer a few questions you may have.

The CCASA Annual Meeting will be held January 17th & 18th in Visalia, please click here for the agenda.  I look forward to seeing you there.
